WYW written one night late '04 or early '05 at Matt, Doug and Eileen's house in the room they gave me for several months. Song's always been existentially dedicated to my old friend Ashleigh.

Gen Schaack and I wrote Banana Peel one afternoon in the spring of 2003 when we borrowed a reel to reel recorder for a day. I'll put that reel up sometime; song sounded more like Neil Young, originally, so I changed the music later> It's always had more chords but I could barely play 'em yet when we recorded it nor did I know how to communicate arrangements to bands as neither do I now, so it's still real simple on record, but I can chord it now irl.

Fudgie The Whale something I saw on TV on Long Island in 2002; one of my small cousins was drinking Mountain Dew, getting their ADD diagnoses or course. At one time my live repertoire consisted entirely of Fudgy the Whale, Greenback Dollar, and a few random punk rock instrumentals. I never played a proper set of my own songs or covers till after recording in August 2006; later that month I played Nabalom Bakery in Berkeley, opening for D.M.S.O. (Dead Man Street Orchestra, but also a song by Dead Kennedys).
